Cubs Win Handicraft Competition By Alexis Shirtliff on November 18, 2006 (updated June 3, 2014) In Cub News / 0 comments The district handicraft competition this year had the theme of travelling to the moon. It is the 100th anniversary of Scouting next year, and a large number of the men who have walked on the moon were themselves Scouts in their childhood. The challenge was to design and build a model of a rocket that could travel to the moon along with a launchpad. We entered two teams of 4, and an additional 3 of our cubs on the day, to their credit, joined another Groups team where only one Cub had turned up. The standard of the models was very high, and as such there were two winners, one of our teams and the team from 1st Stoughton.
